Coordinators Who Are Volunteers¶
Coordinators are sometimes paid staff or other non-volunteers; however, the people who serve as Coordinators may themselves be volunteers. When an individual performs both Coordinator and volunteer duties, organizations often want to track the person's volunteer hours. Coordinator records are designed differently from volunteer records. There is not a way to track a Coordinator's service in the Coordinator record. Therefore, both a volunteer record and a Coordinator record should be created for this type of individual.
Technically, the volunteer record and the Coordinator record are two separate records. However, if the same email address is used on both records, the system can give the individual a choice regarding which record to access when they login.
